We are committed to putting our experience to work. Please contact us if you need assistance in handling an appeal, determining whether an appeal should be taken or if you require assistance with brief writing or motions, pretrial and/or post-trial.
We are legal brief writing experts who specialize in appellate litigation. We have assisted trial lawyers with motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, pretrial motions, motions in limine, post-trial motions, motions for a new trial, motions for leave to appeal, and, of course, appeals. We consult with counsel to ensure complex issues are researched properly and presented as effectively as possible. We provide a fresh pair of expert eyes to review the arguments and record to determine whether an appeal should be taken and whether there’s a different approach that might bring a better result.
Why Foley & Foley?
The Trusted Law Firm for Appeals
At Foley & Foley, we are devoted to appellate practice and have represented clients in all facets of civil and administrative appeals. We are able to offer a superior level of service through our extensive experience and client-centered counsel.
We succeed by giving attorneys and their clients the fresh perspective that’s needed on appeal—clarifying the issues that matter to appellate judges. We view the case in the same way that the appellate judges are likely to view it.
Exceptional qualities of our firm:
- Tim Foley clerked for one of the most respected writers ever to grace the Supreme Court of New Jersey—Justice Robert L Clifford. Appeals are usually won or lost on the brief, and the best briefs raise only one or two issues that really impacted the case’s outcome. We identify those issues and frame them in a way that encourages the appellate court to adopt our reasoning, leading to a ruling in your favor.
- We work well with trial lawyers. We understand what works before a jury is not always effective with a judge or an appellate panel. We become part of your team and make you look good by providing you the best possible product in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- We are always available to our clients, remaining personally involved from initial discussions about a matter through briefing, argument, and post-appeal decisions. We don’t delegate these important responsibilities to an unfamiliar staff of junior lawyers or paralegals.
- We maintain professional integrity with our clients at all times, providing confidential and objective advice enabling clients to make informed decisions about their cases.
